Sound
We’re heading to see Nilufer Yanya at the Royal Festival Hall on the 14th June and we can already tell it’s going to be special.
Her music somehow manages to feel intimate and expansive all at once, with layered vocals and the kind of soundtrack that stays with you long after you’ve left the venue. If you haven’t listened to My Method Actor yet, now’s the time.

Sight
One of our favourite picks this month has to be Theatre in the Vines at Chapel Down on 12th June.
An open air performance of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream set amongst the vineyards? It feels almost too perfect. Add a glass of English wine in hand and a warm June evening and honestly, we can’t imagine a better setting for theatre.
We’ve always loved the magic and mischief of this play and something about watching it surrounded by nature feels especially fitting.
Touch
There’s something wonderfully grounding about spending a day making something with your hands and Camden Art Centre has a fascinating event this month that caught our attention.
The workshop focusing on the beauty, meaning and purpose between different types of paper, perfect for anyone craving a slower, more tactile kind of creativity.

Scent
And finally, a little preview for July because the lavender fields are almost back.
Mayfield Lavender Farm begins to bloom in June before reaching its peak in July and August, transforming the countryside into rows and rows of purple haze and the most incredible scent imaginable.
If you’re craving a day that feels like stepping into another world, this is your sign.
Taste
June tastes of strawberries.
With British strawberry season in full swing and raspberries beginning to appear too, this is the month to lean into seasonal eating. London is filled with wonderful restaurants championing locally sourced ingredients, but our favourite has to be Spring at Somerset House.
If you can, book the Scratch Menu. Served Tuesday to Saturday between 5.30pm and 6.15pm and limited to just 30 guests each evening, the menu is created using produce that might otherwise go to waste. At £40 a head, it feels both generous and inspiring and a lovely reminder that creativity and sustainability often go hand in hand.

Summer Solstice
Sunday 21 June marks the summer solstice, the longest day of the year.
Feels like a good enough reason to stay out a bit later, look up from whatever you’re pretending is urgent, and make the most of the light while it’s here.
Go forth and worship the sun.
